Our Lenten Journey
Our Lenten journey is coming to an end. This Sunday, April 3, will be the fifth Sunday in Lent. Through this journey, many have been fasting in different ways. What are some of the ways you have fasted?
There are those, that instead of fasting, have chosen to add something to their daily living that not only benefits them, but also others. Perhaps you are one of those. If so, what have you added to your life and what difference has it made for you and others around you?
With our Lenten Season coming to an end, begin thinking about Holy Week and Resurrection Sunday. Ascension will have numerous opportunities for you to worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Palm/Passion Sunday will be Sunday, April 10. This service will commemorate Christ's entry into Jerusalem for the Passover feast. The service will include a dramatic reading that will recount the journey of Christ's last week on earth.
There will be a Maundy Thursday Service and a Good Friday Service later in the week: April 14 and 15. These services will mark the beginning of the Triduum. The Triduum is the period of the three days that begins with the evening of Maundy Thursday, reaching its high point in the Easter Vigil and closes the evening of Easter Sunday.
Easter Sunday, April 17, will be a joyous occasion at Ascension. We do hope that you will plan to attend our services. Please know that all are welcome who walk through our doors. We would love to have you and get to know you.
